Would love to track down this film. All I have to go by is:

- Bollywood musical
- Late 60s, or 70s era
- Man singing alone in a living room painted with vivid yellow colours
- Man was wearing darkish clothes
- Composition and production design were stunning, precise, topnotch

Not a lot to go on--hopefully a true Bollywood expert reads this and knows.
